Ayan Zhademov, a 20-year-old student in Kazakhstan, dressed up as his girlfriend to help her pass an important exam, but he failed before he even had a chance to take the test.
Zhademov's girlfriend was allegedly very anxious about taking her Unified National Test, an exam students in Kazakhstan must pass to go onto college. At this point, Zhademov did the unthinkable and decided to take the test for her. He put on his girlfriend's clothes, a black wig, and her makeup, but he was stopped as soon as he entered the testing room, obviously.
Examiners pulled Zhademov aside when they noticed his appearance didn't match the one shown on the girlfriend's identification card. "We suspected it might be another woman that had taken the candidate's place, but we never suspected it was a man that had taken her place," a spokesman for the exam told the Daily Mail. "At least not until he started speaking." Zhademov attempted to speak in a higher-pitched voice, but was recognized quickly as an imposter.
Zhademov and his girlfriend have both been punished. He received a fine roughly equal to $2,100, and the girlfriend won't be allowed to take the test until next year.
Other than being out a decent amount of money, Zhademov has come out of this looking golden. A local businessman was so taken by the action he's offered to pay half of the fine, and he's making other students' boyfriends look like chumps. "Sometimes love leads us to do silly things, I wish my boyfriend was this romantic," fellow student Dariga Nesterova said.
